In 1998, Boston filmmakers Marc Brohand and Ken Caan began compiling footage and audio clips on their favorite indie band The Rooks with plans to make a documentary about a band working, recording and existing on their own terms. The project only got as far as a rough cut consisting of many hours of film. This project was never finished. Here it is presented in its existing raw cut for the first time. Please tune in to watch and hear never before seen live, rehearsal, studio and tour footage along with interview snippets and unreleased songs. The film kicks off with a montage introduction followed by subsequent episodes in succession. To view a specific segment, simply click on the Scrapbook episode button you'd like to watch. |

Available Now Folk Songs Diary is a perfect companion to help complete the picture for Michael Mazzarella's Folk Songs For The Curious Few album. This offering includes a wire-bound 5" x 8" booklet containing lyrics along with annotations for each song by the author himself. A 24-tracks bonus CD provides a listen to the released album from two different perspectives; in unadorned and instrumental versions. The former comprises Mazzarella's lead vocal accompanied by either piano or guitar - truly bare tracks! The latter contains the full album's backing tracks highlighting the simplistic beauty within. Four previously unreleased outtakes (3 songs) round out the bonus disc's lineup. Every booklet is numbered and signed by Michael. This offer will be limited. You can order Folk Songs Diary from CD Baby at the following link: John M. Borack reviews Folk Songs For The Curious Few for Goldmine Magazine. |

There's a song about a bygone relationship fallen through the cracks of life. There's a tale for a vagabond lover on the run. A gospel-esque offering about someones father - a blue-collar every-man's hero. One decries a presidential administration and a blues is an open letter asking forgiveness. A couple have churchly overtones replete with an eminent chorus here, a "hallelujah" exclamation there. These are new folk songs written for anyone willing to listen. Folk Songs For The Curious Few. Recollections Of A Young Girl Gone October On Bleecker The Ballad Of Who Are We Open Letter Of Sorry My Father's Clothes Ramble, Ramble On Shine A Little For LaDonna The Blue In An Ocean (Song For W.) Dear Fans,
ON SALE NOW!
Michael Mazzarella's first solo album "GREY OVER AN AUTUMN WINTER" is now available at CD BABY. The songs: Fairground Is Gone
Michael's first solo effort, Grey Over An Autumn Winter is neither a departure from, nor a recreation of his old Rooks catalog. His new songs retain the melodious characteristics he's become known for, while reflecting the work of a writer whom continues to grow and expand his craft without sacrificing quality in his compositions. From the lovely opening track "Fairground Is Gone," to the album's chilling ode to his mother finale "Dear Mariann," we anticipate that you will find beauty in Mazzarella's recent efforts. Thank you in advance and please enjoy Grey Over An Autumn Winter. |
